My name is Xiaoning Wang. I am also glad to be called "Gavin". I graduated from Tsinghua University in 2017 with a bachelor of management, concentration in accounting, and a minor in law. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate major in information systems at the Department of Operations, Information and Decisions, the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. My school website. I study technology and entrepreneurship. Specifically, I examine how information technologies such as social media and analytical tools facilitate startup scaling. I use empirical methods including econometrics and machine learning.
In my leisure time, I enjoy travelling a lot, especially by driving a car. I have been to lots of places in China, U.S., Russia, Japan, Canada, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Jordan, Qatar, Thailand, etc.
I also love teaching. Being a teacher is always my dream. It really excites me to explain complicated knowledge in plain language and see the students' epiphany expressions. As a student growing up in Henan province, China (one of the most competitive regions for college entrance exam in the country), I always love to contribute to the education work in my hometown.
